Fusion Grid
JET Remote Experiment 2004
January 16, 2004

John deGrassie, a fusion scientist at the DIII-D National Fusion Facility in San Diego, remotely led the JET tokamak experiment located in England using FusionGrid services.

Working with Task Force H at JET lead by L. Eriksson, John acting as the Scientific Coordinator while located in San Diego on an experiment to study the influence of ICRF power on toroidal rotation established by NBI.

Using Access Grid, MDSplus, control room presence web pages, and IDL based visualization tools, John was able to examine JET data, perform data analysis, and see/talk with L. Eriksson who was located in the JET control room. Although successful, the results of this work has pointed to areas where the experience can be improved. The NFC Project is folding these results into their work plan.
