The Fusion Grid Project is involved in the following meetings & events.

CLADE Workshop
The NFC Project will present the Virtual Control Room design and implementation at the CLADE 2004 Workshop in Honolulu, Hawaii, June 7, 2004.

Innovative Confinement Concepts Workshop 2004
The NFC Project will present an invited talk and give demonstrations on FusionGrid services at the Innovative Confinement Concepts Workshop in Madison, WI, May 25-28, 2004.

2004 DOE SciDAC PI Meeting
Information about the Collaboratory was presented at the 2004 DOE SciDAC PI Meeting in Charleston, SC, March 22-241, 2004.

Workshop on Case Studies on Grid Applications
The NFC Project gave a presentation on our experience at the Workshop on Case Studies to be held in Berlin, Germany, March 13, 2004.

ITER-Grid Technology Demonstrations
The NFC Project presented the Virtual Control Room Concept to the ITER Project during the ITER Grid Workshop held in conjunction with the ITER Ministerial Meeting in Arlington, VA, December 20, 2003.

NFC Project Renewal Proposal
The purpose of this meeting is to finish the renewal proposal for the National Fusion Collaboratory Project. The meeting will be in Rosemont, IL January 12 & 13, 2004.

SuperComputing 2003
The NFC Project gave a major demonstration of the Collaborative Control Room in the ANL booth at the SuperComputing 2003 Conference in Phoenix, AZ November 15 - 21, 2003.

APS/DPP 2003
The NFC Project had discussions with the large user community and held its annual User Oversight Committee meeting during the 2003 APS/DPP Meeting in Albuquerque, NM October 27 - 31, 2003.

Middleware 2003
Work on the design and implementation of fine-grain authorization policies for grid computing will be presented at the Middleware 2003 Conference in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil June 16 - 20, 2003.

NFC Project Review
The National Fusion Collaboratory Project will be reviewed in Boston, MA May 28 - 30, 2003.

The 2003 Joint US-European Transport Task Force Meeting
Information about the status of the Collaboratory Project and its associated services was presented in a poster session at the 2003 Joint US-European Transport Task Force Meeting in Madison, WI April 2 - 5, 2003.

The 2003 Conference for Computing in High Energy and Nuclear Physics
Work on fine-grained authorization for job and resource management using Akenti and Globus was presented at the Conference for Computing in High Energy and Nuclear Physics in La Jolla, CA March 24 - 28, 2003.

2003 DOE SciDAC PI Meeting
Information about the Collaboratory was presented at the 2003 DOE SciDAC PI Meeting in Napa, California March 10 - 11, 2003.

The Siam Conference on Computational Science and Engineering
The National Fusion Collaboratory participated in two Minisymposiums at the SIAM Conference in San Diego, CA February 10-13, 2003. Presentations discussed the role of Collaboratories in advancing the science of plasma simulation as it applies to large scale modeling efforts whose ultimate goal is the comprehensive complete simulation of a fusion plasma.

GlobusWorld 2003
Experiences and issues encountered while building FusionGrid were presented at GlobusWorld 2003 in San Diego, CA January 13-17, 2003.

Supercomputing 2002
Information about the Collaboratory and demonstration of capabilities was presented at SuperComputing 2002 in Baltimore, Maryland, November 17-22, 2002.

APS/DPP 2002
The single largest gathering of the Collaboratory's user community is at the annual American Physical Society/Division of Plasma Physics meeting. This year the meeting took place in Orlando, Florida, November 11 - November 15, 2002. Major demonstrations on Fusion Grid Computing, shared visualizations, AG nodes, and tiled display walls were presented.

MAGIC Workshop
The Middleware and Grid Infrastructure Coordination Team (MAGIC) was established by the Large Scale Networking (LSN) Coordinating Group of the Interagency Working Group for Information Technology Research and Development. The workshop is designed to develop a blueprint for future science grid infrastructure to help coordinate the many grid development projects. The Collaboratory will particpate in the document creation The workshop will take place in Chicago, IL, August 26 - 28, 2002.

DOE High Performance Network Planning Workshop
The U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science invites scientific network end-users and visionaries to participate in a three-day workshop to discuss strategic issues relevant to development of advanced high-performance network infrastructure. The Collaboratory will present the network needs of the US Fusion Community at the workshop. This year the workshop will take place in Reston, VA, August 13 - 15, 2002.

Workshop on Advanced Collaborative Environments 2002
The WACE series addresses research, technological and social issues of developing persistent collaboration infrastructure to address the needs of emerging scientific communities. The Collaboratory presented their experiences at the workshop. This year the workshop took place in Edinburgh, UK, July 26, 2002.

GGF5 & HPDC-11
The single largest gathering of the Grid community is at the Global Grid Forum Meeting and the High Performance Distributed Computing Meeting. Papers and presentations related to the Collaboratory Project were presented throughout the week. This year the meetings took place in Edinburgh, UK, July 22 - 26, 2002.

NeSC Workshop on Applications and Testbeds on the Grid
This one day workshop brought together both Grid developers and applications to discuss their experiences on putting Grid technology to work in everyday science. The Collaboratory presented their experiences to date. The workshop took place in Glasgow, UK, July 20, 2002.

The 2002 Sherwood Theory Meeting
Demonstrations on remote computing and visualization where presented to theory and simulation scientists.more »

A demonstration on remote computing was presented to experimental fusion scientists studying transport.more »

The SciDAC Kick Off Meeting
The first meeting of all the SciDAC projects held in Reston, VA, January 15 - 17, 2002.

Supercomputing 2001

NIMROD Team Meeting
A meeting of the NIMROD team was held in Long Beach, California, October 28, 2001. The decision was made that the Collaboratory will work with the NIMROD Project on developing state of the art 3D visualization along with remote visualization [Viewgraphs (PDF)].
