The National Fusion Grid is a SciDAC Collaboratory Pilot project that is creating and deploying collaborative software tools throughout the magnetic fusion research community. The goal of the project is to advance scientific understanding and innovation in magnetic fusion research by enabling more efficient use of existing experimental facilities and more effective integration of experiment, theory, and modeling. The project began in September 2001 and is itself a collaboration between experts in the magnetic fusion and the computer science and enabling technology communities funded by the USDOE SciDAC program.
A two page Executive Summary gives an overview of the project.
